Moloka’i is an epic tale of a young girl who is sent to Kalaupapa, the quarantined leprosy settlement on the island of Moloka’i. The book is a beautiful moving story of human spirit. I found myself touched and inspired by this epic tale. Picked by Cathy
I was interested to see that you have staff picks. My book group read this years ago. I absolutely loved this. It was a very inspiring and heart breaking book about something that most people don’;t know anything about. It was interesting to know about the daily life of these people, and that it took place in such a beautiful place. If I ever go back to Hawaii, I would love to visit this place.
